My ignition switch is bad and it take a little wiggling to get it to start right. I am replacing it this weekend but thought i'd ask. Is there a specifice switch i should be replacing it with that everyone uses ? Mines is on the dash, not on the column. Also i thought about and wondered if they have push button ones ? Does anyone have any advise ?

You'll want a dash switch for sure. I think the 67 and 68 were similar, but some of the 67 switches didn't keep the IGN hot during crank. Getting the old switch out requires a straightened paper clip to stick in the tiny hole on the lock face. Once the wire is in, turn the key and pull out the lock cylinder. Then the bezel unscrews and you can remove the lock from the dash. It would be a good idea to disconnect the battery ground cable while you work on it though.

I think your only option is a factory replacement type like this: (you will have to scroll down to #5) http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?input=ignition+switch&SM=1&SC=8
Once you get the lock cylinder and bezel off as described above, getting the switch itself out can be a pain. I found it easier to remove the speedo/gas guage bezel and go in from there rather than from the bottom of the dash.

I agree, drop the speedo/gauge panel and it's much, much easier. I did mine when I first bought the car as I wanted to re-key the whole car and after monkeying around under the dash I gave in and dropped the gauge panel down and it was easy from there.
