the Second Gens are coming into their milk; there's a ton of 'em for sale on Racingjunk and Craigslists.
bad thing about Gen IIs is rust.. I guess we drove the crap out of most of 'em and never gave the issue a thought, and about that same time in time, State Depts of Transportation were playing with various chemicals/salt compounds during the winters, which ate these cars alive.
I had a '75 that I beat the fire out of, and the worst thing I had to endure about it (often) was door hinges.. those danged heavy doors were hell on hinge pins.
I recently bought an '81, that I'm in the process of converting into a full-fledged drag car, and 2 buddies of mine have '79s that they drag race.
if any of the GenIIs survive, I think they'll be the 67-8-and 9s for future generations to restore. :thumbsup:
IF the "go-green, non-carbon-footprint" generation doesn't kill the hobby ... :sad:
