I have a chance to buy a NEW Eagle 4340 400 mains 3.750 or 3.875 stroke cranks. They are new, however the was turned .010/.010 because of imperfection of the journal for $420.00. Do you this crank is worth it and what type of problem will I run into using a factory 400 block with the 3.875 stroke. Will this be worth the hassle if I already plan on buying Eagle 6" H beam Rods and adding main studs to the 2 bolt block. BTW: I dont plan on spinning it over 6000rpms.
Thanks for opinion and recommendations

Just double-check the price for new without being cut; I thought they were under $500 but I may be wrong.

I got my 3.48 stroke 4340 crank from RPM performance out of ohio for 475 delivered to my door. But why exactly do you want 4340 if your not going to spin it past 6000? It would be cheaper to get a cast steel one or somthing, and would hold up just the same at 6,000

Jody here is a link that has them just under $700, but Ebay may be cheaper, so you might be correct...

I know I've bought them for about $500 new, but I don't remember if they were 4340 or what; they weren't cast though.

I'm just saying to check is all; you'd hate to find out that this price for a turned crank is only slightly less than a new standard crank.

I have found that www.dirttrackthunder.com (http://www.dirttrackthunder.com) have them for $529.00 W/free shipping. So that could be an option, however I after spending this money on a new crank I might still have to get it turned, because Eagle has been having problem getting the journals Right...
Maybe I Might go with a Scat 9000

The last two I bought were virtually perfect. But there are other good cranks out there at a reasonable price like the Scat.

Well i know this is speculation but ive heard SCAT is about the worst out of all of them as far as accuracy goes outside of CAT. Like i said my crank was right on but if you want a good deal call RPM performane in ohoio...1-800-333-2646...like i said, eagle esp 4340 crank, it was $475 dollars delivered to my front door, i know i got a show deal but just ask them and im sure you may be able to get a deal.
