What are the correct colors for the taillight housing for a 69 RS?

Inside silver....outer color? Black with spatter paint overspray?

Thanks!

I sandblasted mine and left them "natural" Turn the air pressure way down if you blast them and you'll be ok.

No trunk spatter paint was on them originally

If you lightly blast them a thin coat of semi-gloss clear makes them look pretty again.

What paint will restore the reflective coating on the inside. The outside has paint over spray on them, any suggestions on refinishing them?

"Aluminum" paint works well.

I've never tried a light blast on them. A good cleaning with lacquer thinner works well

Aside from Dull Aluminum, most of the rattle can silver you'll find will be pretty shiny/reflective. Look for something that claims to recreate the look of chrome.

Here's my 69 RS, I did touch up the trunk about 35 years ago but stayed on the sheet metal floor. The sides, hinges and tail light housing seen to the right are original. (the brown seen on stuff is teak dust from rebuilding my sailboat with the table saw in the garage. It's pretty much cleaned up now. (pretty much))
