1969SSBB Jul 11th, 09, 03:34 PM Has anyone tried to dye their seatbelts? I have black in my 69 and after washing with soap and water and letting them dry, I am considering dyeing them. Any thoughts? DjD Jul 11th, 09, 05:34 PM I had some dark blue belts that I tried to make black, no liquid dye, not even "Rit" would work. I found a rattle can cloth dye and it was amazing. I used the SEM vinyl prep on the belts first then hung them and dusted them over and over, it soaked in a lot but the color stuck and the belts stayed soft and ply-able... No, think about dying a shirt or other cloth, that's really what seat belt webing is like.
