Flash is the maximum rpm the engine reaches before the car moves. This is done with the car sitting still and you floor the gas pedal. At the rpm that the car moves will be your flash.

FLASH is the rpm the engine goes to when you mat the gas pedal when the car is sitting still, it's in gear, ready to leave the line. It's usually 3 to 500 rpm higher than the converter will go if you hold the brakes and push the gas pedal to the floor. Consult your favorite converter builder for a better description.....
