Really hate to ask, but after reading a bazillion headliner posts, i'm still not clear on how to handle the galvanized retaining strips around the front and back glass on my 67, Do these stay clipped in place, with the headliner stretching over them (after glueing) and tucking in the back edge? Every shred of my headliner was long gone when I got the car so I have nothing to go on, but at least they left the bows and trim in place, I'm going to get a ton of clips from office depot and have at it shortly. Thanks for any help!

Yes. It's easy, just take your time. Although I've seen some butcher jobs.

I'm not sure I understand your question. You streach the headliner around those galvanized strips and use the binder clips to hold it in place. After you get it like you want it you glue it and push the trim over the strips. Then when you get the sail panels in place you push on the rear window trim.

My question was if the galvanized strips had to come off for any reason, or if the headliner just streched around them. It didn't look like they should need to be removed, but i've been wrong before!

No they don't need to come off. If you try to remove those little clip and destroy one they are not replaceable. I took mine out and I shouldn't of because I damaged three of the clips and I haven't found them anywhere.
