View Full Version : Has anyone seen my '68 6-cyl ?
6781camaro Jul 14th, 09, 10:34 PM Just curious if anyone on this site owns a 1968 6 cylinder that I used to own back in 1994. The VIN # is: 123378N400XXX. PM me for the rest (for your privacy reasons) :)
It was white with a standard black interior, bench seat, column shift PG, and non-ac.
69z28freak Jul 14th, 09, 11:28 PM Hey Todd I had no idea you were a closet 6 banger, buddy. Welcome to the club and out of the closet. Feels great doesn't it.
parkbrau Jul 15th, 09, 03:26 AM HA! It took him 1,806 posts to admit it.

ya know, I would LOVE to own that car again. It ran sooooo smoothly. Yes, they're not monsters on the dragstrip, but I did enjoy driving an original well-running GM classic Camaro. I am proud to say that I owned it for a little while.

Ha ha.. Yep! I loved that little Camaro. It ran like a champ. I was going to add ac and restore that one just after high school. I just didn't have the income or space to afford a full-on resto back then, so .... I let it go. Maybe I can find it again and make it my next resto project? All it would need are some body panels, a little carpeting, a dash ,seat covers.... uh oh!!! here we go again! LMAO! Another money pit! What am I crazy? Yes,.... crazy for first-gens!
My goal is to eventually own one of each year 67 68 69, in any model, but preferrably one will be a drop top.
parkbrau Jul 15th, 09, 10:12 AM It's prolly a z-28 now.
Good luck on finding it. I could drive any Camaro, regardless of power plant. I love em all.

LOL! or a Yenko....
Good luck on you search. I'd love to have my 1st camaro back.
kinsmd69 Jul 15th, 09, 11:44 AM I dont know about your car, but I can help get you started. I had a 67 & 2 - 68 6cyl convertibles. I still have the power plant (lol) and pg tran from the last one. It was rebuilt with 10k on it and ran like a dream. Of course, the fool that bought it put a gas guzzling 502 in it for pro-touring. It looks awesome, but doesn't get 20 mpg!!
6781camaro Jul 15th, 09, 12:44 PM Well, I am not h3llbent on finding it per se, but it would be nice to own again. It was solid, straight, and original #'s matching. I know it's a longshot for sure, but you can't blame me for trying guys. After alll, what would be a better site to do it on right? :)
I figure if I want to own one of each year from 67-69, why not own one that I know was solid. (was--is the key word) It may not be now.:sad:
oh well. If it turns up, please let me know. Thanks!
6781camaro Jul 15th, 09, 08:28 PM I thought I would post a few pics of what it looked like when I owned it. It wasn't the prettiest 6-cyl, but it ran sweet! The interior was all there and original except for the carpeting and those hideous wheels. :D Nice huh? I had later put on a nice set of 15x7 rallies and it looked muuuuch better.

No, not shag, but it was house carpeting. The previous owner installed it with pride. Check out the rear RED carpeting. Surprised you didn't notice that. :D
I would buy it today too. (hence the thread)
