I just rec'd a complete 4 wheel disc setup from Right Stuff that is sold thru Matt's Classic Bowties. It did not come with the round hold off valve. It also did not come with prop. valve that goes under the left door. Do I need these with this setup? It's their stock upgrade that still fits under 15" rallys. The rear calipers have the built-in levered e-brake,
The distribution block is odd in that it has the rear line going into the block in the rear .
I also got all new brake lines and hoses. I'm not sure all these parts are correct.

I've got the same kit and it does not have the valve that is found under the door either. I think the new prop valve at the mc may handle whatever function that old valve was for....although what if you were reusing your old lines? Mine is only half installed....still have to put the new rear end in.
If all the parts are not correct, it certainly wouldn't be the first time.

I also got no instructions for the rear brake setup.

I didn't get the rear brakes period the first time, and no instructions when they came. I downloaded a set from CPP that hopefully will work.
Look on the right side of the page under the "Need Help?" section and there is a link for a disc brake installation guide which has some good info. Also in that area, there is a link to instructions and the ones for the rear brakes are 1012RWBK. Some of the technical articles may be good as well.

I would recommend an adjustable prop valve so you can play with the pressure to the rears and dial them in just right. I just finished 4 disc Wilwood setup and they did recommend an adjustable prop valve but not a hold-off valve. But while we're on the hold-off valve subject, it did come up in a very recent thread of mine as a possible solution for a minor scenario I am experiencing. Here is the link...

I looked at that set you bought, Dave. That looks like a "combo" valve - distribution and proportioning in one unit. It should be all that you need. The round "metering" or "hold off" valve delayed pressure to the front discs until somewhere around 20-30 PSI was built up in the hydraukic system. The valve under the floor boards was only included when certain options were ordered. Many disc/drum cars didn't have that valve.
I'd run it as is without the hold off valve..

I have an early 69 Z, has the round proportion valve aside the m/c along with the square factory distrib block.
I am converting rear drum to disc and I got my Right Stuff kit from Matts. I also got the 4 wheel fat/short "ported" "Vette 4 wheel disc " master cly and was assured that I did not have to run any other proportion valves for even the little 2 or 10 psi check valves. I also don't have this valve everyone is referring to , under the drivers door , attached to frame. Will find out soon if this is true.

4 wheel disc setup does not use the hold-off valve. That was for rear drums as stated above. The prop valve in the kit is a combination valve for 4 wheel discs. That's all ya need! (The master cylinder needs to be for 4 wheel discs tho').
Be sure to bleed the rear calipers off the rotor. The bleeder isn't quite at the top when mounted. It'll drive you nuts other wise. Been there, done that.
