I am finishing my build after 4 years...69 SS coupe. I need to lower the front as the stock height springs are way too high.

I am told that the QA1 coilovers are the way to go for handling etc and can lower the front end 2 inches. My question is if I am not racing it, or running it on a track, am I better off just doing the 2" drop springs or should I spend the extra $300 and get the QA1's?

Your input is appreciated in advance.

I used the Hotchkis. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone this route:

Adjustable shims that hide up in the subframe and circle track coil springs. Inexpensive, adjustable and a wide range of spring rates to choose from.

and these:

I forget if the Camaros use 5 or 5 1/2" springs - do some research.

I'm happy with the Hotchkis, but you're pretty much stuck with your ride height. I had to put a small shim under one side to get it to sit level.

I was having the same thoughts a few months ago. finally went with hotchkis springs. one issue with the qa1 was about the lower a frame mount. another guy on this site modified the arm to make it stronger. qa1 stated no modification is necessary but after looking at the lower a arm and the shock mounts, i felt this area wouldbe too weak. I did not want to modify the a arm, and felt the coil spring looks more original. I love the stance and coils work great.
