Decode for body number: 347724

05A = Built the First week of May.
69-12437 = Coupe.
VN = Built in Van Nuys California.
711 = Standard Black Bucket Seats.
72-72 = Car Color is Hugger Orange
H299 = internal plant scheduling code.

Towards the end of production at the Van Nuys Plant, whats the VIN??

Actually I am going to guess that this car is within 100 to the last car made at Van Nuys.

10 or 12 bolt rear?
How many fuel lines?
Power disc brakes?

The wheels are probably code FW by the valve stem holes. They are 15x7 73-77 Chevelle/Monte Carlo ralley wheels, judging by the dates.

There were only 53 cars made after yours at Van Nuys. Last car was L531163.

Was a V8 Car, probably not an SS. Most likely a 307 car with the 10 bolt and drums.

Not a 307, has a numbers matching 350 T 0424HE

Have not checked the 10 bolt to see if it is number match.

Cool. Even better! Are you positive its not HF??

HE is a 350/300hp with Powerglide, which explains the 10 bolt. This is the only way you could get a 10 bolt in an SS.

You may just have an RS/SS. One of the few powerglide/10bolt ones that I have seen.

Any chance you got a pic of the engine pad??
Check and see if it has 2 fuel lines on the pass side subframe or where it comes up to the fuel pump.

further investigation is needed.

With manual drums, I'm guessing it's a HF engine code.
When you get a chance, take a look at the trans and axle codes. They will help.

SS/RS!!!

I did not get the trans with the car, but will get out and see what I can find on the 10 bolt in the next few days. Will also look at the fuel lines.

Thanks guys.
