I was cleaning out my garage and found a number of cans of R12. Any idea what this stuff is worth these days? Is it legal to sell?

It is not your respocibility as a seller to verify if the buyer is licensed or not.I have known people with refrigerant licences that have purchased R12 off ebay a few times without verification. top dollar it's worth $15 for a 12-14oz can. I know if you are a retailer you are required to get a form from the buyer that conatins his license number for handling R12 (and a few other refrigerants). Don't know what the rules are for a private sale from one individual to another. I have couple cases i'm hanging on to...my 67 elcamino still has r12 system and its cold in about 1 minute catch you later j zbo2 Jul 17th, 09, 10:52 PM you can buy "freeze 12" now....works the same as r-12 but with a differant chemical composition. a 30lb tank of r-12 is about a grand now...........stuff is not cheep at all. you don't need it with the freeze 12. the new stuff works great. wagonman Jul 18th, 09, 12:17 AM YUP!!!
