I am being offered a 427 from a 1970 dump truck. It has been "sitting outside" for 5 years...

He wants $200. Is this worth that if it is rebuildable? I'd imagine I would need new heads and intake at a minimum after a rebuild...

Is this something that would make a good Camaro motor?

If it's a tall deck, it's either a 366 or 427. If it's been sitting outside that long, it isn't worth messing with.

If the motor is up the Northeast were you live - That's 5 years of winters snow and summer rains that it has been exposed to. I think I have to agree with Brian, probably not worth messing with. Also, if it's out of truck, that would mean it's a tall deck motor - which could cause some fittment issues with the hood to start with.
