: Lower control arm bumper

I just noticed on my '69, that only the right-side lower control arm has a rubber bumper. The lower left-side arm does not, AND does not have a hole drilled in it for a bumper to mount to. What gives?

The assy. manual is inconclusive about it.

I can only think of four possibilities:

1. this is the correct application (doubtful)
2. the factory forgot about it and it was Friday afternoon quitting time (maybe)
3. There used to be a hole, but was covered over with a weld (I looked and don't see any evidence of that, so doubtful)
4. The lower arm was replaced at some point, and for whatever reason, this part does not come pre-drilled for a rubber mount (perhaps).

Whaddya think???

You probably have an arm from a 67, which mounted the bumper on the rear leg of the A-arm. See if you have the holes for it there. It's easy enough to drill a couple of holes to mount the bumper. One of mine was the same way.

I checked: there are no holes on either side of it. Think it could be an aftermarket or OEM replacement? It looks as old as the other one...

I compared the lower control arm mounting bolts to the ones from the left side. The ones for the right look newer, and come to think of it, were easier to remove. I surmise that it's a replacement control arm. Guess I'll be drilling two holes. Thanks!
