found a 1984 z28 camaro L69 v8 , 305 with 4bbl carb, interior great, body looks good, has a factory clock in the middle of the console before the compartment door, still works, power windows, front and rear disc brakes , 10 bolt posi, owner still has the original sticker for the window , about 4000.00 in extra parts he put into the car when he ordered it... over all good car, whats it worth ??

I have owned an '89 Camaro convert for 16 years. I bought it as a driver and assumed 3rd gens would never have any collector value. And they do not. They also haven't caught on as street machines. Parts availability can be a problem and there is little aftermarket support.

On the plus side they are fun to drive and seem to run forever. Hot Rod featured a Power Tour buildup of an '82 Z28 years ago; the car they started with had 300k miles.

If the car is a nice driver and doesn't need much maybe $3,000-$5,000.

Sounds like a car you will have some fun with at a reasonable investment.

BTW don't put regular [87 or 89 octane] gas in it. The manual for the '89 mentions 91 octane fuel; that was regular 20 years ago. 305s have cast pistons that won't take much pinging.

5 speed or automatic?

the 84's could be had either way

I would say the automatics are not worth as much as the 5 speeds

I had a 84 L69 5 speed that I bought 5 years ago. Had t-tops, power windows, 4 wheel discs, the clock, mint interior, all original down to the L69 intake. Body was great, not a drop of rust just needed paint. Found it on autotrader and bought it off a mechanic at a chevy dealership for 2300. Was extremely reliable, drove it everywhere everyday. Kind of sad I sold it.
