It's got .548 lift and it's a comp 298 solid cam in a 406 with an 800 DP.
Thanks,
Donnie
P.S. If it won't, can I just run a vacuum canister?
Thanks again,
Donnie

probaly not, but yes a canister should do the job just fine, i run a comp cams 294s cam and i pull 10" of vacuum and thats abit low and i imagine you will come in just a bit lower with your cam, but a reserve canister should be all you need, how much duration does that cam have @.50?? goodluck

To be honest, I don't really know the duration. I'll try and find out soon though.
Thanks a million,
Donnie

well, with just those numbers, it is hard to say. valve diameter and duration come into perspective. my best guess is yes, it will. with that high lift, the air wont flow through the manifold as fast as with a small lift cam. this is also where intake ports in the head and the runners in the manifold come into play.smaller means faster flowing air and more vaccum. do you have the cam in the engine right now? if not, and you want to keep the cam, there are ways around having low vaccum in the engine. a friend of mine has a vaccum reserve canister on the master cylinder because of low vaccum from the cam in the booster.

Nate,
The valves are 2.08, 1.66. Does that help? I honestly don't know the flow numbers on the heads but they're turbo jet heads and they're all ported.
Thanks,
Donnie

my 406 has a 250 at .050 , .610 lift , w/108 lsa, solid roller cam, pro action 220 cc runner, 2.05 ,1.60 valves, 11.5:1 compression, and it pulls alost 15" at idle, which of course is fairly high, about 950-1000 rpm. and i'm running a stock power booster and drums, and have never had any problem w/ my brakes whatsoever. w/ my old s/r torquer heads the vac. was maybe 2" or 3" more, but even with the bigger heads, as you can see , vac. is fine. of course power is considerably better http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif. i think you'll be just fine, personally, but there's only one way to find out. good luck!

as indicated, idle speed (and initial timing advance) can make all the differnce in the world.. in some cases.

But, my hydroller is about 240 duration and 109lsa and it won't pull a GM booster (idle is about 800). But, a good fix is a electric vacuum pump. Came on caddy diesels. About 40bucks on ebay.
