Just tryin to figure out how rare this car is it was handed down to me from my father

its a 67 rs z-28 DZ302 car Butternut yellow paint deluxe inter
it is heater delete ac delete and seatbelt delete from what i understand.The one weird thing is that he was the second owner but it looks that the factory had cut and removed/installed different types of tail lights on the car.Is no hack job been done very well but at a close look you can tell..thanks for any info on this car..

Post some pictures of the car and a picture of the trim tag and engine stamp. A 67 Z/28 was not a DZ 302, it was an MO 302 (or MP for California cars). 67 Z/28's are very rare as only 602 were made.

It had to have seat belts. I The trim tag on the firewall will tell me alot...

The RS cars had the backup lights below the bumper and different taillights/brakelights. So that may explain what you're describing. The information from the trim tag on the firewall will help verify what the car might be if you don't mind posting it up. Assuming it's a real RS Z28, it's a pretty rare and valuable car!

It is priceless and 1 of 1 if it was passed down from your dad......

No 1st gen Z28's had AC. Heater delete was an option (credit) for any model (but was rarely used as such). By 1967 it was mandatory that all cars sold in the US have seatbelts.

And I'm just as interested in pix as the rest are as a 67 Z28 (especially with the RS package) is one of the rarest 1st gens around.

Not trying to sound rude or mean. It’s just the nature of first gen cars.

Welcome to Team Camaro........Great first post 67 Z, it should get alot of interest......some times these cars had badges changed or added to them or stories have been told that, The guy I bought this from told me it was a Z28....... but.... the car is not originally a Z car......67 Z28's as the others have mentioned are quite rare and sought after by most of us here.

Follow the other members advice and post pics or email them to someone so they can post them for you.......If it is a real Z28 you will find information and advice about the car from the board which can be very valuable to you........

Congrats and good luck with your Camaro.........

Sounds like a nice Camaro. I too would like to see some pictures and hear about the history of the Z. I think you will find many of us here, including myself #1, would be interested in purchasing the Z if you decide to sell it.

I guess ANY car that doesn't have A/C is "A/C delete".

My car is also "Z/28 Delete", "ZL1 Delete" and tilt wheel delete.

Man you guys are suspicious!!??

With all the bs with people who dont care about the cars, their history, or their legacy but only making money off of them....unfortunately, you have to be suspicious now. Extremely sad and I wish it wasn't true, but sadly it is.

It was BS from the start.

Prior to Al Core inventing the internet, communication was done face to face, over the telephone, through the mail, etc. Now, anyone with a computer can have a 67 Z/28 in their garage while hiding behind their computer..
Got to go....
I need to polish my ZL1 in my garage.

my mom just called me and said her neighbor GAVE her an old Chevy they had in their garage, she asked me what 104 octane fuel was because there was a sticker on the console that said it HAS to use that gas. Oh, there was a plate that said L88, what did that mean? She doesn't like it very much, being 82, she thinks the clutch pedal is too strong so she is going to take the car down to the Goodwill and donate it ...

there, how is that story?

Y-2 Car is Butternut yellow with black top.

Decode for body number: 043154

11E = Built the Fifth week of November.
67-12637 = Custom Interior Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
765 = Custom Black Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests).
Y-2 = Lower Color is Butternut Yellow and the Vinyl Top Color is Black.

Options:
1W = (A02) Tinted W/S only
1L = (A67) Fold-down rear seat
2L = (M20) 4-speed floor shifter
2G = (D55) Console front compartment
2S = (U73) Antenna Manual right rear
2R = (U80) Speaker rear
3L = (Z22) Rally Sport Package

Krashin, on your cowl tag, you wanted to see the code "4L". This denotes Z/28. Then you would have hit the mother load! Still a nice car.
Thanks for posting the pics:thumbsup:

Don’t be sorry. The 67 z28 is as good as it gets for 1st gen cars. We are always skeptical on authenticity Almost all 67 z28, s are found and logged in a registry. So when we here of a possible new find we go crazy :wacko:

Jul 24th, 09, 05:12 PM
and what did the 7L code stand for?

There is no 7L on that tag. The first option group has "WL" not "7L" and it was decoded accurately a couple of posts up. As to what motor came in it originally would depend on the vin number as to being an L6 or a V8. Assuming it was a V8 it would have had a 327 in it. What is the date and codes on the rear end? They will be stamped on the passenger side axle tube about half way between the center section and the wheel toward the front.

Jul 24th, 09, 07:57 PM
and what did the 7L code stand for?

Before you posted the cowl tag pic, you had me stuck on decoding. Once I enlarged the cowl tag pic, I figured 7L was really WL. Your vin # will tell you if 6 or 8 cyl car. Post a pic of your vin.

Of the 602, there are only a couple over 200 that are accounted for and in the registry, so they are either still out there, or turned into pop cans long ago.
