Hi, im planning on building this 383 chevy:

-350 bored 0.30 over with 400 crank (383)
-trick flow 23 degree heads (2.02 and 1.6 valves)
-flattop pistons (compression about 10.0)
-600 cfm holley 4 barrel
-single plane manifold ( torker 2 edelbrock)
-small tube headers with open exhaust
-CRANE CAM camshaft POWERMAX H300-2
cam specs @ :0.050-lift
int lift@valve :0.480 in
exh lift@valve :0.490 in
lobe center :112.0
valve overlap :18.0
int duration :238.0
exh duration :246,0
advance/retard :0.0
-1.5 rockers(rollers, yes or no?)

what do u guys think of this combo?

i did choose these carburator and manifold because i already have them new.

its for a 87 camaro with a th350, i think ill put a 2500 stall convertor on it with a hard shiftkit, i do have a long rearend(about 2.93 or so but i will put low profile tires on it,( like 205-50-15)
Im on the lookout for a better rearend.

maybe other ratio rockers will work better(1.6int 1.5 exh.?)

thanks

Doesn't sound bad. What do you plan to use this car for? From the looks of it, this engine is going to run best above 3000rpm. A numerically higher rear gear ratio would probably be better suited to it.

Good luck with the build.

Sounds good. Like you said though, keep your eye out for a rear with some lower gears in it (3.73s are great).

I'd swap up to a Holley #4779 750 DP... graemlins/beers.gif

Yea, it needs a carb BAD! - a 750DP would be good.
But a HP950 would be great!
And 1.6 RR on int./exh.
