: Opinion on Craigslist 67 RS
kz1000ltd Jul 23rd, 09, 07:15 PM This is right up the street from me, getting the itch again to find another first gen, I'm thinking this is a pretty nice one, especially if I can get it for 15K or so. What do you guys think?

67 Plum Jul 23rd, 09, 07:19 PM I like.$15,000.00 should be a good price.Looks like it has power drum brakes.
camarodude67 Jul 23rd, 09, 07:38 PM If you could get it for 15 might be a good deal, look like a dealer so that may not get it for 15? Not to crazy about the color and the rims, yuk.... Deluxe interior with standard bucket seats... fyi...
Up to you, I think there is more out there for the money....

68 Red Vert (picked up tonight)! Yeah...

okiemark Jul 23rd, 09, 08:03 PM I love that car and ESPECIALLY the color.
Melrose RS Jul 23rd, 09, 08:11 PM What kind of weird carb is that with the fuel inlet on the driver's side?

Ur right....what the ??.
One things for sure...20k is more than enough for that car.
Garfields Maro Jul 24th, 09, 04:09 AM Looks like a common Holley 1850 to me :) .....Sierra Fawn in color maybe??
No mention of a numbers matching drivetrain, etc....how can ya realistically put a price on it ? I'd think if it's as good as it looks in the pix, it'd be worth 15K, regardless...
Everett#2390 Jul 24th, 09, 04:28 AM If it can be bought for $15K, it oughta be in the driveway - nice daily driver.
Needs washers, has pump but no bottle, hoses, nor nozzles.
Rear axle crooked in body? Pass side pic shows wheel to the rear of opening. Drvr rear wheel is where? Multi-leaf springs, '67's had mono-leaf, pad could have moved from spring bolt making axle crooked.
Inlet fuel could be covered with kitchen foil to divert vapor lock.
Still, a nice looking car overall. Needs some tweaks, but, still a good base.
It is what it is.
SPARKY69 Jul 24th, 09, 04:55 AM Good looking car with a few monor tweaks..offer him 14k and put it in the garage!!
67z28 Jul 24th, 09, 05:41 AM I think they have run the fuel inlet in to the sight plug in the bowl.
BelAirBob Jul 24th, 09, 05:45 AM KZ, for 15K it looks like a great deal for an RS car.

Looks like the strap holding the car on the trailer is pulling the rear and back on the pass. side.

Z10396 Jul 24th, 09, 07:21 AM Man, really? I think it looks sharp. I like the color.

Did you end up selling the RS SS 68 that you bought last year?
thorpe67RS Jul 24th, 09, 09:06 AM For some reason i missed the part about getting it for 15k in the original post. Definitely worth that based on the pics.
Blade Jul 24th, 09, 09:11 AM Better see it in person. Look how close that rear tire is to the quarter.
DjD Jul 24th, 09, 09:30 AM For the asking price I like Ray's Ragtop better... http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=159549 and it's a TX car as well... It looks like it needs floors and a trunk though.
rando Jul 24th, 09, 10:03 AM Good looking car.....in the pictures. Check it out in person. I don't think I would kick it out of my garage.
clwilcox33 Jul 24th, 09, 10:05 AM Too late KZ, you'll have to come buy it from me at my house. Oh, and it got a little more expensive :D

I know Chris didn't buy it, he's 5 years into his 67 now, and it's still in pieces! I'm going to check it out tonight, if it looks as nice as it seems, I will offer 15 and see what happens. Cars aren't exactly selling really well right now, it's a buyers market!!!!!
tmannet Jul 24th, 09, 10:32 AM I like the color, used to have a similar car a few years ago. Last I heard it is now also located in TX

kz1000ltd Jul 24th, 09, 03:30 PM Yep, looks like its sold. Oh well, I wasn't "THAT" serious about this one, just thought I would go take a look at it since it was so close. Another one will come along sooner or later, I'm in no hurry..........

Have you cruised by Chris's house to see what's in the driveway :D
Maybe you'll need to keep it on the 'down-low' next time - or we need to distract "Mr. Wing Windows" until you can get first crack ;)
I agree John, another one will be along sooner or later
Z10396 Jul 24th, 09, 04:46 PM Very sharp. Would look great with a set of ralleyes on her!

Jeez John, did my last check to keep our dealings on the hush hush bounce or something? l:)
As for the other John(KZ), he just needs to get over here and put my other 67 back together, I might even let him have a ride in the new one I just got :D :beers: l:)
tmannet Jul 25th, 09, 07:40 AM damn, that was a nice car...maybe it's the economy, but first gens just seem to be popping up all over for sale. Seems odd, but I suppose you can pay the bils for a long time if you sell a first gen with a hefty price tag...
Edit: ad is back up this morning!?
Hatman Jul 25th, 09, 07:48 AM Did you end up selling the RS SS 68 that you bought last year?
bump
kz1000ltd Jul 25th, 09, 11:28 PM bump
Yes, about 2 weeks after I bought it. Too far gone for me.
