Some brake upgrade kits use the 1997 Chevy truck caliper which apparently has bigger pistons and therefor more stopping power over the C5. The C5 would be lighter, but what are peoples experience with this.

I have a 1969 Camaro and looking to do a brake upgrade. I currently have front power disc brakes. I would be taking the car to driving schools occational on the track, so I am concerned with improving performance.

I am alos on a limited budget so I am not looking at the more expensive kits like bear brembo etc.

If 3/4 ton truck brakes were better for a Corvette then the current system you would think that the GM engineers would have figured this out:cool:. My Camaro seems to be more similiar to a Corvette than it is to a truck:hurray:. But I'm funny this way:noway:.

I believe the C5 are dual piston and alum and the truck are single piston and iron.
