After reading the bodyshop forum I like to hit the "Today's Posts" and read through it.It is typically 7-8 pages long. It is something I have to read on and off throughout the day.It seems there is a time period that, once expired,no longer let's me read through the posts that I had previously brought up. It is a pain to have to re-search and try to catch back up to where I had last read. New posts will have been added and the posts I originally brought up are no longer in bold which helps me keep track of where I was. I have just been putting up with it until now. I had just done a two word search and FINALLY got a result. About one page later I got the dread "timeout" and now can't pull it back up. I know the search problem will be fixed. I'm hoping something can be done about the "tineout" deal.
Thanks

try doing a search with this link:
http://www.camaros.net/forums/search.php?do=getnew&sortby=forum

it will probably still time out as that's a setting we can't change but the link above groups them by forum so you can read each section and if it times out, you can probably pick up better as you'll know which forums you've already viewed.

The search should be working again.

The "Today's Post" is a search and all searches time out after a bit. What I do if it times out on a "Back" is go Forward (that page never times out) and just scroll back to the top and his Todays Posts. I have a fairly good idea what I already read it picks up what's new and anything I haven't looked at is still new...

I use todays post every day....NZ ping is 216 ms 17 hops no packet loss.
no issues
Server resonce quicker than most in US
I use 2 machines 1 with IE 7 the other IE 8, 8 is the quicker machine but a fraction slower to load due to CCTV and other stuff working in the background.
IE is clean, no extra task bars and crap....both machines have not been rebooted for serveral weeks and still have orginal installs from 5 to 8 yrs ago.
Gong on the above I would say there is nothing wrong with Camaros.net, and hasnt been since 'fixing' a yr or so ago.
I would suspect the workstation have all sorts of crap running in the background, including virus scanner set to work over time.
I sugest running hyjack this, close down crap running on boot...turn off or uninstall the VScanner..see what happens, or load something like clamwin, that doesnt use a heap of memory.

It's not a computer issue on my end.
This is what I'm getting
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
This happens after a couple hours of reading after already pulling up Todays Posts.I still have 2 to 7 pages to go. It always happens when going forward to the next page. I can go back and then forward again but just get the same thing. Now, this is the only forum that I take such a long time reading and for all I know this is a universal problem with all forums. The reason I take such a long time reading them is that I am at work. I work, read, work etc.
Guess I'll just have to read faster. Matter of fact if I am at home and read today's posts on the weekend, having the ability to read straight through, I don't have this problem.

There will be a server time out, which would kick in under those circumstances.
This could be adjusted but is bad security prctice for other reasons
I suggest that u go thru, either open all the pages in new window or new tab...then go thru later at your leasure.

Thanks,Steptoe. Server timeout makes sense. I'll try your suggestion.
