Did all 68 convertibles have door jamb vents? These things:

I don't think mine has them. It's in the shop so I'll have to go look, but I don't remember them. If not, can the jamb be cut out and the vent grills added? Should they be?

Pretty sure all 68s had them. My 69 Verts have them, but they serve no purpose. All Gm and repro qtrs have the cut-out, better check.

I have to wonder if I indeed don't have them, is how that came about? I can't imagine a body shop filling them in??

I see the grills advertised as for 68-69. I think they started with the astro ventilation

The vents are part of the astro-ventalation and do serve a purpous. If you ever removed the correct cover with the backing and filter you would see how much it works by looking at the filter.

Someone may have put 67 quarter panels on your car. The difference being the jamb area and the side marker lights. Side marker lights would have been an easy modification to add when replacing the panel.

80% quarters wouldn't wrap around far enough to have the vents right? I'm having them put on it now. They were 67s anyway. Do y'all think I should have the holes cut out and grills added?

My 67 has one on the drivers side. It had a left rear quarter replaced, dose not have one on the passenger side. Thought about welding it up and having the jamb repainted but the car has fresh paint. Found out after paint that 67 didn't have them.

Early 68 verts don't have the jamb vents. We've discussed it before, and a search yielded this discussion of date ranges without vents.
