I have a 68 z28 built second week of July. I recently purchased a block with casting date march 16 and my heads are casting date feb 7 and feb 21. Are the casting dates on the heads close enough to each other to be considered correct? Are they close enough to be correct for the block? Is the block close enough to be correct for the car?

If it was a Corvette, it would fly under NCRS judging standards, even though it's outside of the 2-6 weeks that's considered "typical"; they allow up to six months prior to the car's build date for the block casting date, recognizing the lax inventory controls in the 60's. I don't know what the Camaro originality judging standards are; have never seen anything published.

What do you mean by "correct"? A lot of people think if they have the right casting numbers and the casting dates fall within an acceptable range for the cars build date, they can consider the car numbers matching. Unless you find your original block with your cars partial VIN stamped in it, it isn't numbers matching. I'm not trying to be smug or hard on you, just trying to figure out your goal.
