hey guys, how do these moldings attach to the drip rails?
john68 Jul 30th, 09, 03:48 PM They just clip on. No fasteners.
Dale8346 Jul 30th, 09, 06:42 PM also, they are stainless steel.
TraxUnderground Jul 30th, 09, 06:47 PM And they are a pita to install...at lest my GM ones are. Still not on the car cause I damaged them and had them repaired/polished 2x. I'm gonna have to find someone who does these often to get them on. I think the aftermarkets give a little more and may be easier to snap on.. but dent easily. Good luck...they do look nice once on the car.
Sauron67MM Jul 30th, 09, 07:03 PM They require patience to install. Exercise it, and they go on fine. Excessive paint build up will hinder installation.

Straight-line-69 Jul 31st, 09, 10:36 AM The trim is harder to take off than installing. The stuff is very thin and is easy to dent and/or bend. Now that I think about it, I believe there is a tool designed specifically for removing this trim.
For install, carefully clip it on, one inch at a time.
I'm not convinced the trim looks better. I'm ambivalent. I have the trim on one car and left it off of two. One of those two didn't come with it and my paint shop destroyed the trim on the the other.
FWIW
mferris72 Jul 31st, 09, 12:29 PM The tool is just an old fashion church key,(can/bottle opener). Use the bottle opener end and masking tape the opener, trim and the area around it. Work real slow and pry about 1/2" to 3/4" apart. To relistall start at one end and slooooooowly push with your palm. lead the area starting to push on and it will follow about 2" behiind your palm. Again.....go slow.

Patience is the key - short distance as you go.
rjp73 Jul 31st, 09, 03:42 PM I had to remove a lot of the paint buildup to get my repo moldings to snap on. Lots of patience, walk away if it isn't going well and try it again later!
