Well, the availabile funds this summer were less than expected, and everything costs more to build than you think it does, so I am going to end up doing a partial rebuild of my 327. But man, Im excited!

I just had my first real mass-ordering of parts from Summit delivered (SCI gaskets, ARP bolts,etc)...man were they fast and everything was in top condition!

2 days ago I fabricated my own "plenum divider plate" for my Weiand 7546 manifold from some aluminum that was lying around. It fits like a glove (not the OJ glove)

I bought Comp Pro Magnum (Full-Roller) Rockers from Ebay, and the auction went perfectly!

My Pro-Topline heads are on the way to top it all off!

I weighed my car (for free!) at a recycling center and its light as a baby! Its 3075 without me, with 100 pouds of gas (full tank @ 6lbs/gallon) and a fully dynomatted interior!

Sorry to go on and on, but I am just livin it up right now! BTW, what do you think my car will run when everything is in? Specs below:

Before:
1968 Camaro 3230lb w/ me
327ci .030 over 8.5:1 comp.
74cc original 327ci 210HP heads
Unknown cam (fairly mild, like edel. perf)
Performer Manifold
600cfm carb
Headers

Stock 1500 Stall, TH350 shift kit
3.73 gears, Eaton Posi, BFG Radials

Best: 14.64 @ 94mph

SOON:
1968 Camaro 3230lb w/ me
327ci .030 over 9.5:1 comp.
Pro Topline 200cc 64cc (bigger heads for future buildup)
Unknown cam (fairly mild, like edel. perf)
Comp Pro Magnum 1.52 full roller rockers
Weiand 7546 Manifold (David Vizard recommended)
600cfm carb
Headers

Stock 1500 Stall, TH350 shift kit
3.73 gears, Eaton Posi, BFG Radials
(Maybe Ill even go open exhaust since mine dumps down:))

For a 19 year-old kid, it was tough to buy "all the expensive parts" like copper gaskets and ARP, and the expensive rockers, but I have quickly learned that building it once right is priceless.
Thanks guys, Ill keep you updated if you are interested (as I know some of you will be with a 327)

EDIT: Just dont ask if the heads are iron or aluminum...refer to thread Iron Vs Aluminum graemlins/clonk.gif

Man I know just how you feel Steven. graemlins/thumbsup.gif Ain't it a rush to see all those boxes with shiny, new parts in them? Talk about motivation!
Good luck with the buildup.

Thanks Hwy! I hope to get my car at the strip by August if everything falls into place. I've learned an enormous amout from Team Camaro since Ive been interested in modifying my car. Finally I think I have gained enough know-how to do things right.

I'd love to hear how it runs when you get it all together.

Yup, new parts coming in is a big motivation to get to workin' on it! :D

Don't forget to SAVE THE BOXES!! They look good sitting around to remind you of way back when----.
