Has anyone used some of the restoration products to return this lens to its original condition? If so what? If it turned into a mess please say so. How you did it. I am trying to stay as original as possible.

I have not personally used it, but Meguiar's makes a couple of products that others have used quite successfully. The two products are Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Cleaner and Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Polish.

I have not and would not spend the coin on it. The UV breaks down the plastic on a molecular level below the surface as well. Polishing is only a quick fix on the surface. If you must, run a buffer over them, it lasts for a little while. Same with truck bugshields.

So basically we are at clean with a mild detergent and use the meguirs products and if that doesnt work a buffing wheel.

These lens are not UV damaged as thye are just aged by 40 years of being on a garaged car.

I just bought new tail light frames for my 67 and bought the Meguiar's restoration kit with the buffing pad. I buffed my old red and clear lenses and they turned out looking like new, I don't know the shape yours are in, I didn't have any scratches. Not sure how long they will stay looking new but for now they look great.
