Well, I've been lurking here for a while and I figured I'd go ahead and register. My father and I are beginning to restore his 1969 Z28. The car is Rally Green with a Vinyl Roof and Black Stripes. The car has been parked since the late Eighties in a dry garage. It has almost no rust only some surface rust and a destroyed battery tray. Yesterday we hooked a battery up and the electrical system seemed to work, the lights came on, wipers ect. The car also cranked once we had proper voltage at the battery. Just a side note he has owned the car since 1975.

Well I hope this car will be on the road by Thanksgiving and I hope to become a contributing member of this community!

Here is a picture of the car around 1977-1980.

Doug welcome aboard and nice ride... You might want to lube, drain all fluids and change all filters before you take here out and about.

Welcome
X2 on the fluids.....save everything you take off......until you are sure you do not need it...and then save it a little longer......

Oh he is real good at saving stuff, we have quite the stash of NOS parts still in boxes from 1975-1980...

Welcome to the Club, Doug.

Soak the battery tray and fender with baking soda and water. I'm sure you & Dad know this then rinse with cold water. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.

On another side note this car has the 302 and a M22 trans.

Welcome Doug! That battery tray issue seems pretty serious. I think you should sell immediately before it becomes too bad :D:D:D

Seriously, sounds like a very nice ride!
