Repro Side Mirrors

I have a repro mirror on the door of my '67. It is brand new but refuses to hold up and keeps rotating down to rest on the door. Is there any way to keep it from doing this?

Not that I know of. Is it a CHQ mirror?

Some folks have superglued the thing in place. Others have dimpled the socket area with a punch.

Probably the OER mirror. Mine did that. I tried dimpling the socket area with a punch but screwed it up. I'm waiting for Ecklers (been waiting for 3 months) to get a shipment of their higher quality side mirrors in.

Bill, there's been a few write ups on this very issue re. these side mirrors...do a search with "side mirror fix", and it should give ya some past info, OK?

You can put a little loctite on t he ball and adjust it. IF you bang it you'll have to redo it. But it helps.

I ordered one of the US made ones from Rick's. We'll see how it does.....

Just replaced both of mine, the new ones are nice and tight, hope they stay that way.

I seem to have to change mine every 5-6 years, maybe it's a combo of the bad repro's and a little bit of vibration, just seems to loosen them up.

My Factory original just messed up by falling last weekend. I'm going to have to replace it im guessing.

Has anyone used the ones from Heartbeat City? I think they ones manufactured from the same GM tooling, USA made repro's as well as the cheaper repro's?
