I want something to seal the floor of my 67. It has some surface rust that I'm cleaning up. What is the best product and/or method for stopping what rust I have and sealing it up? I am not concerned about originality, I just want the best chance of stopping or at least slowing the rust.

Secondly, what is the best way to quiet the road noise? Is there something better or comparable to Dynamat?

All opinions are welcome!

Paint it with POR-15, and do what the directions say to do if you want a solid coating.

Also for the sound deadening, you can use rattle trap which is the same thing. It is cheaper and is thicker than dynamat. I'm doing the same thing to my 68 right now. Painting with POR-15, and laying rattletrap.

Look at my restore thread and I have pictures painting the roof with it and seat pans.

Thanks Graham...Where's Lake Mary?
The POR-15 can brush or spray on? I take it you are spraying with a compressor?

No Problem, Lake Mary is in Florida. It can be brushed or sprayed on. I used a brush on the seat pans, and used airgun for the roof. It sprays good but it is very hard to get off your skin.;)

I just bought 2 pints of it on ebay for $100 and it came witha marine spray, that helps it stick to your metal.

por15 is very nasty stuff. I would not spray it unless I had an air supplied helmet.
It sure does work, and it oes on very nice and smooth with a brush.

Ditto that. I like the POR15 Chassis Coat Black, it is supposed to be more UV resistant than regular POR15. My experience was that it was very difficult to not make it run on vertical surfaces. I was still experimenting with thinning and gun adjustment.

And yes if you don't get it off your skin immediately, you'll be wearing it for a few weeks.

I have never heard of the chassis coat, its just what I was looking formyself. thanks speedshifter

I had a 3-M mask on and I had POR-15 around the edges of the mask, I quickly got it off my face before there was trouble.
