Ok finally got my car back on the road.... Its been a long 4 years since its been to the track

My combo WAS a Mild 350, Holley 650 DP, Edelbrock Performer RPM, Competetion cams 275-DEH, Vortec Heads with matching springs for the cam, Steel shim head gaskets (.10) thick
TH-350 2500 stall B&M
3.31 or 3.55 (unsure of the ratio)
ONE LEGGER
Ran 13.40 @ 107 MPH
60ft times were 2.10 to 2.30 avg 2.20

Everything is the same but now it has a MUNCIE M20 (early with 2.56 first gear)

I know that POSI is a must but that will be changed soon, cause im still deciding on the Gear ratio i want to run with this combo

Any suggestions on a good gear ratio for occasional drag racing and decent cruise RPM
(I dont plan on putting in a overdrive any time soon) I was thinking on 3.73 but will that be too much on the freeway???

Thanks for your Input graemlins/beers.gif

What do you think that combo will run with good traction and that MPH????

It may have more mph now, cause when i was using a tighter Torque converter i was at 108 MPH

From what I've read on several posts over the past couple of months.. It would seem that a 3.55 would be your best "streetable" bet for a rearend. Gives you a good launch, but still keeps the rpms around 2900 on the freeway.

If you are looking at a lot of freeway driving then go with 3.42's. If you are not doing a lot of sustained 70 mph driving then go with the 3.55's. I have 3.55's in the 69 and they are a little too low for my taste so I am backing off to 3.42. I have 3.90's in the 75 and they are perfect for that car because it does not see as much highway driving. I have 3.42's in the 93 and they are perfect in there with the 6 speed. So, to get down to it, the overall combo and usage will dictate what you need. Good luck.

Im Turning about 2900 @65 MPH (verified with GPS)
With a 265/50/15

I guess I do have 3.55's
I will pull the cover and verify

I will probably take it to the track soon

What are you guys running in the 1/4 with a similar combo and GOOD traction

I should be in the 12s ??? with 107 mph
