my 67 stock 327 has orig 4 bbl q-jet. runs great. problem is after car sets for 4 or more days, there is no fuel. i have to crank and crank until it starts.
where has the fuel gone to? driving me crazy. thanks

It evaporates.

The fuel well plugs can leak and the best way to fix them is to use an epoxy to seal both wells. The wells are located under the bottom of the fuel metering rods.

I totaly agree on the epoxy. Have done it many times to cure that tricky question, "Where did my gas go?" Evaporation over night? Not very likely. Fuel drip from the well plugs pretty common with these carbs. A good 5 minute epoxy works fine.

Mines got epoxy, no leaks. Still evaps some after a week of not running it and takes a bit longer to start.

An old gear head at the dealership i works at taught me that trick.

He said, "4 or more days." My vote is evaporation. Typical with ANY carburetor.
