Anyone here ever race there? Or remember the year they closed? I found someone who has old decals from the drag strip and it got me looking on the web for information. Found someone is trying to document the history of this track and feels it closed in 78.

It's located off the south end of the airport I work at. I started working there in 81 and remember in the summer of 82 hearing the cars run every Friday night when we worked afternoons. The tower is still there, I see it everytime I taxi one of the aircraft down to do a run-up.

Some great vintage drag racing pics, many taken at Tri-City Dragway. Scroll about half way down to see the pics. All the big name raced top fuel there. Car Craft July 67 had an article on what they called the newest and one of the nicest dragstrips in the country. It's sad today to see it. I still remember cars running there in 82, but not after that.
