3 weeks ago I bought my first camaro (67 conv rs/ss clone). It is a driver and I love it...that is except for the sun visor will not stay put. If I put it up it falls, if I push it in towards the windshield it falls. It stays snapped into the center rear view mirror but falls. I bought from classis industries new bushing and replaced the old bushings - which did not go in easy and require force to get the visor stem back in with the new bushing. If anyone has any recommendations or tips I would greatly appreciate it. I am too the point where I am just going to take the visors out cause it is hard to see while driving. If there is another post, please direct me there. I could not find any suggestions.

I find lightly sanding the shaft of the visor, where it goes into the bushing, with a fine emory cloth - as well as completely degreasing both parts with IPA (isopropal alcohol) or other mild solvent will keep them firmly in place.
Mkae sure the screw is in good condition also and that it does acually tighten the opening up enough to compress the bushing - I've found a few rusty/corroded screws that really didn't do much.

I tried a number of things and finally bent the shaft at the small diameter relief - maybe 3-5 degrees. Now it finally stays up.

Check to make sure that the metal sleeve where the screw goes in on the swivel mount (near the edges of the windshield) are not cracked. I had one that would not stay up, and found that this was broken.

As a next to last resort, you could Hook & Latch it to the headliner, VelcroŽ it!
As you said earlier, last resort would be to remove it.
