I'll go against the grain thus far and say body color.

Body color always looks better unless you are doing a stock build

Body color! What ever color the underside of your trunk is! Period!

A stock firewall, then stay black. But if your up for the challenge...

If that does not suit your needs get a stainless steel or brushed aluminum firewall cover.

I agree, BODY COLOR, as long as your body color is BLACK! :)

I dig the body colored firewall and black everything else look. IMO it looks cool as hell when done right. However, I disagree that black hides dirt better. Have you ever seen a truly clean black car with the exception of immediately after being washed? I think that black cars are the reason they invented the California duster!

I like the color firewall with the black inner fenders. Actually, I'm torn between that and the stock black look. The entire compartment body color is just too much for me.

Black; it sets the engine off better.

I prefer the underside of the hood to be body color and the rest of the sheet metal painted satin black. On the Corvette I did paint the underside of the L88 hood red and black. Red on the support webbing and black on the unfinished fiberglass.

I'm painting the body and everything under the hood flat black, so I guess my answer is "both...body color and black"
