Have any of you guys installed a Sat Radio in your 69? If so, where did you mount the antenna? I was trying to keep the outside of the car clean of antennas. They say the antenna should be somewhere on the high part of the car with a good 360 view. I put mine in the upper rt corner on the dash, inside my car. The problem is reception. It seems the broadcast satellite is in a somewhat southern hemisphere. If I'm traveling east,west or south, no problem. If I'm northbound, reception is lost, because of my roof.

Most newer cars that dont have them on the roof put them in the center of the package tray.
Might be worth a try?

And be sure to tell us if you find a solution. I just found a good spot on my sailboat. It wasn't easy. And my truck has one stock so it's on the roof. But my Camaro is a mystery.

I have my satellite radio and GPS antenna in the rear window on my 68.

Get a shark fin off a new Camaro and put it on the roof:D Then when someone asks tell them it's original.l:)

I installed my navigation antenna and satellite antenna on my G35 package tray with tinted windows with no reception problems whatsoever.

So far so good. but to be honest. I can't hear the stereo very well over my engine. :-) I will test it today on my drive home and let you know if I have any issues.

I put mine in the area between the trunk lid and the rear window. Ran the wire along the trunk seal trench.

Just saw a '68 mustang last Sat with the satellite antenna run into the trunk. It has a magnetic base and when showing the car it's left in the trunk. When driving the guy sticks it centered right below the rear window. The owner says no problems with reception and the wiring doesn't get damaged closing the trunk on it...

I drove around yesterday for about an hour or so and it only ever cut out on me when I was under bridges/overpasses and when I drove through a very wooded area. So far so good. To be honest, I don't think that satellite radio sounds very good to begin with so if you don't already own it, I wouldn't really bother. (Unless it has stations that you can't live without). -Just get an ipod.

John if your satellite radio doesn't sound very good, it's probably poor reception or poor quality reciever. The factory stuff in my daughters Cobalt sounds as good as a CD or mp3 and I've only lost a signal deep in the forest or in a tunnel...

I have to agree. I cancelled my subscription for this very reason. They compress the sound and it sounds like crap. I have an iPod ready head unit and it sounds great compared to the satellite.
