Has anyone used a combustion analyzer for fine tuning? I have access to a quality unit (provided by my employer) which provides combustion efficiency%, ambient O2, CO, CO2, NMHC and other environmental gases and wish to perform "proficiency training" by using my 350 as a test bed (stock bottom end;edlebrock rpm intake, 64cc rpm heads, 750cfm 1407 carb, ~9.6 cr). I didn't get much help from edlebrock tech support so I'm taking it to the experts. I know this Quintox analyzer can do me good if I knew what to look for.

One of the magazines just had an article on this. I'm not sure, which one it was, but I read it last week. Popular Hot Rodding or Chevy High Performance I think, or maybe Hot Rod.

Note your starting mixture screws settings to make it easy to go back to if the machine gives you bad performance being right by standards. Might just give you the perfect tune job. Pretty good deal.

Back in the 70's I had access to one that had a exhaust anyliser in it, We just stuck a probe in the tail pipes & checked it. My car ran very well with it being tuned on the Machine, we used it to check the fuel mixture up to 5000 rpm & changed jets according to what seemed to work best. It is well worth a try.Let us know the results.
