What is the biggest tire/wheel combo for a factory 68 with 15" wheels. Looking at Welds.

This is what I had on my 68 until a few weeks ago:

Weld Draglites
Front: Tire:195/60R15
Rear: Tire: 265/50R15

They are currently for sale in the classified section. View my profile pic to see them on the car.

I've seen P275/60/R15's, P295/50/R15 and a friend of mine had N50x15 bias ply tires on his 1968 Firebird back in the early to mid 1990's....I believe N50x15 equates to P315/50/R15 in a radial size. And yes you may have to jack up the rear end a bit.

For 10 inch deep dish rims to fit, what exactly did you have to do to fit them ? Thanks

Doug - is your car lowered any or any suspension mods?

I also run cragar superlite with 275/60/15 out back and 215/60 over the fronts. was thinking of running a 1" block in the rear.
It appears the name of the game is backspacing (offset). If you try to run 275/60/15s on say stock ralleys it might not work out.

If you want to put more that 2 people in your car 245/15/60 fit nicely at stock ride height.
