I don't know alot about 69 model year Yenko cars, so I figured I would ask the experts.

did any of the cars leave the dealership with a 396 engine? And did any of the cars have the SS badging?

The 1969 Yenko Camaro and Chevelle are factory installed 427 COPO cars.

I have not heard of any SS396 1969 Yenko Camaro or Chevelle cars sold with the Yenko stripe/emblem package.

The 1969 Yenko 427 Nova had the 427 installed by Yenko.

Vince E, who has original Yenko records, has said Yenko paperwork shows 37 L78 1969 Novas with 30 converted to 427 and 7 sold as 396.

Some people feel that there was less then 30 427 Novas built.

So to answer your question, there could be some SS396 Yenko Novas but it is not clear if these cars would have had the Yenko stripes and emblems added.

They may have been sold as normal production SS396 L78 Novas as Yenko Chevrolet sold production SS396 Camaros and Chevelles as well as the 427 cars.

In 68, Yenko ordered some Camaros with COPO9737 and L78, and then transplanted L72 into them. There were some of them that never got converted, and were sold as L78. Not sure Yenko got a premium for the 9737 (15" wheels, oversize sway bar, and 140 mph speedo) but my money is on ol' Don.

He was asking about 1969 Yenkos but you are correct that some 1968 Yenko COPO 9737 Camaros were sold as SS396 Cars. Two have been found.

The 1968 COPO 9737 did not include 15 inch wheels as the 1969 COPO 9737 did.

The 1968 COPO 9737s are belived to have been built with the std 14 inch SS wheels.

Yenko put the Pontiac 5 spoke rally wheel on some of his 1968 427 Camaros

I know where one of those 69 Yenko 427 Novas is located. It still belongs to the original owner. It only comes out about once every 5 years or so. No one can talk him out of it!!! I keep trying!!!!
