bowtie1Z28 Sep 1st, 09, 09:46 AM Hey Don.......I took the liberty of starting a thread for your get together as Dale suggested, hope you don't mind!
Donna and I are in just let us know what we can bring and what time we should be there!! Need the address for your place too!
No Problem, anyone that can make it to Midlothian Illinois on Sunday just give me a shout for directions.:beers:
rs1968ss Sep 1st, 09, 12:37 PM If it wasn't for that 8 hour drive.... :beers:
bowtie1Z28 Sep 1st, 09, 01:15 PM We don't mind your 8 hour drive and would welcome the new face......JK on the first part!
Absolutely, new faces, new cars
murph's 68 Sep 2nd, 09, 06:32 PM Well, third week in a row is not a charm. Won't be able to make this one Don. There is a very slim chance so let's just keep it a no.
Murph
JimM Sep 2nd, 09, 08:03 PM Randy has a very nice car, too. I know, I made the 8 hour drive to one of his party's a few years ago!
'friad I won't be able to make this one tho. We're gonna fire up the magic bus and do some camping.
Anyone reading this post who may think their car isn't good enough, it doesn't run, or you'll be going to some fancy get together of rich guys is way off base. My house is nothing special, my car has a long way to go to be show worthy (but I drive it every chance I can) And my garage is barely weatherproof. All I care about is that you love old Chevy's (especially Camaro's), are a friendly person with a good attitude, and enjoy the company of other gear heads. If your driving something other than old Chevy muscle just park in the street.
Team Camaro SS is a great group of knowledeable & friendly guys. I have yet to meet a jerk. And should you be a rich guy with a show quality ride please come grace my humble abode! Especially Sponsor's with awesome cars, think of the PR opportunities of hanging with the regular Joe's on Labor Day weekend:thumbsup: The magazines love that stuff.
Just post up that you want to come and I'll send you the address.
khouse 69 x-11 Sep 3rd, 09, 06:27 AM Hey Don, Thanks for the invite. Looks like I've been out of the loop and missed a few gatherings. I guess thats what happens when your car is "jailed". I will not be able to make it this weekend either as we will be heading to Michigan. I do have my ride back and will probably be at the steak & shake friday in tinley. Maybe I will see some of you guys there.
Mike
Glad to hear your ride has been set free finally. I'll probably see you Friday.
bowtie1Z28 Sep 3rd, 09, 09:24 AM Gonna try and make Friday night also but I thought Friday was at Applebees lot and Tuesdays were SnS?
Fridays are at 163rd and Harlem on the West Side of the road just South of Applebees.
Just a thought, for you Indiana guys I'm 5 minutes from the 159th St. Exit on I-294. Might be the closest TCSS gathering to you all year.
shadys69 Sep 3rd, 09, 09:06 PM C u guys at applebs tomorow!!
What do you guys think about meeting at Turtlehead about 5 and driving over to Applebees as a group, it was pretty cool last Sunday.
bowtie1Z28 Sep 4th, 09, 10:55 AM Sounds cool but I won't be able to make 5:00. Donna and I will be at AppleBees but more like 6:00. Planning on parking the Z and going to have some dinner then walking around. If anyone else is bringing their wives maybe you would care to treat them to a dinner and join us?
JT1999CamaroSS Sep 4th, 09, 11:26 AM Sorry Tom, I started smoking a brisket hours ago and don't imagine it will be done until around 5-6 if I'm lucky. It will be a miracle IF I make it to Appleby's at all tonight. The good news is, the temp is stable and I'm into the "mopping" stage and the meat is looking good so far, only 5-6 more hours to screw it up!
Back to cars. I know I'm probably the only one here with a hydraulic clutch, but I was wondering if anyone knew anyone who knew anyone who had any luck with better clutch response due to syphoning out old fluid and replacing it with new??? I've got myself a brand spanking new $1 dollar turkey baster from the dollar store and I'm off to suck out all the fluid I can and replace it. I hope this produces some results but in any case, it's a great "trial and error" type test that do-it-yourselfers have done for years and years...

JT1999CamaroSS Sep 4th, 09, 11:28 AM OOps, another quick post. The dollar store stocks things like turkey basters on a seasonal basis. They really are a great tool in the garage for things like sucking some brake fluid out of the master before a brake job so you don't spill over as you compress the calipers. Get one now if your interested as they will be gone in short order and won't return until a year from now.
JT
Tom I'll give you a call after Chris gets home (4:30 or so) maybe we'll join you for dinner.
bowtie1Z28 Sep 4th, 09, 02:42 PM Sounds good Don! Talk to you later.........
Abort, Abort, Abort. Although 2 weeks ago everyone was available this Sunday It's seems plans have changed. So this Sundays get together at my house has been canceled. I will be at the Lemont Car club get together tomorrow (sat) at 159th & Bell road about 6. Have a great weekend everyone
yellow69RS Sep 5th, 09, 08:52 AM That project I was gonna do last week end is still calling my name. That cruize with the burnout contest sounds like fun but ya need a car for that.
