deerhunter Sep 2nd, 09, 08:55 AM Personally, I don't really care for the large rim/small tire look on the old cars. Everyone has their own preferences here and I definitely am NOT trying to start anything.
mtndone Sep 2nd, 09, 08:58 AM looks nice and fills the wheel area- I would give it a thumbs up
67SS/RSCONV Sep 2nd, 09, 09:06 AM I really like it. The advantage of a larger rim without sacrificing the old school look.
67CamaroRS/SS Sep 2nd, 09, 10:12 AM I like the advantages you get from a large wheel, but honestly, I am not a fan of this particular wheel.
Lexlas Sep 2nd, 09, 10:40 AM Great look for a newer version of the old wheels. I prefer a different rim myself but if you like these old school rims then it's all good. You gotta have the right paint and style to go with it.

68IslTeal Sep 2nd, 09, 04:16 PM would be ok for a budget 17", some place under the many TT knock off type wheels out there.

Journey Sep 3rd, 09, 02:17 PM In my opinion, I would not give it another thought.
Stay Stock
novaderrik Sep 3rd, 09, 04:06 PM probably the best modern bigger interpretation of an old school wheel ive seen- well, except maybe the modern Torq Thrusts.
are these made in the USA? that kind of matters to some people.
Gar's67 Sep 3rd, 09, 07:48 PM They would look great on a Chevelle. I don't care for the look on the Camaro's though.
Steiner Sep 4th, 09, 12:14 AM If you like that wheel, then going bigger and keeping the look is a plus.
Personally, it is not a good looking rim at all to me. It looks like something off a Matchbox car that got hit with an anti-shrink ray, especially in the pic with the blue second gen. To each his own though.
Satatic Sep 4th, 09, 06:50 AM They dont look real.
67CamaroRS/SS Sep 4th, 09, 07:14 AM There are many other wheels that look MUCH MUCH better for less money. For example, the Boss 338. You can get staggered fitment, 18 x 8/18 x 9.5 for $616/set. The price is WAY too high. It has always been my experience that Year One has always been a little high on their products. The Boss 338 has a much better look and a much better price. Of course, this is just my opinion.
novaderrik Sep 4th, 09, 02:22 PM They dont look real.
they look a little too flat- like the spokes need to bump out a little bit to make them look more like the wheel they are trying to emulate. and the proportions of the wheels seem a bit off- the center cap looks tiny compared to the original wheel.
that being said, i'd get them for my 74 Monte if i had the $$$ and was looking for wheels. but i'm gonna switch that car over to a 5X5 bolt pattern, which kind of complicates things.
and my question was never answered- are they made in the USA or in some isolated province of China?

Im thinking that Im going to get the boss 338. I have a chrome 20x8.5 on my camaro now just took a display to see how it would look. Going to go with 20x10 and 18x8. I just dont know about chrome. Plus it adds a lot to the price tag.

I have not looked at the rim but the best thing about chrome is you dont have to polish them. I am tired of polishing alumium. Especially on a blower motor.
67CamaroRS/SS Sep 5th, 09, 06:58 AM I am going with the black with chrome lip 18 x 8 and 18 x 9.5. I believe the front bs is 4.517 and the rear bs is 5.239. I think this is the bs, but before I order I will be calling to doublecheck.
70chevyz28 Sep 5th, 09, 10:52 PM i'm sticking with my orignal 15's!
68IslTeal Sep 6th, 09, 10:03 AM The more pix I see of them the less I like them. Sorry, maybe they would look good on trucks?
JediJawa Sep 8th, 09, 10:26 PM Having owned a 71 Z with the original version of those wheels I have to say I really like them on that Camaro. I don't care for them on the Monte or really the chevelle much either, but I personally really like them on the 2nd gen body!
Camuchi Sep 9th, 09, 08:45 AM Look good to me on the Second Gen also - the other cars not so much.
68RS-SS Sep 9th, 09, 12:20 PM Not a big fan of this particular wheel and agree that looks "matchbox" and toy like. For those who like it will be a wonderful option. I recently converted to 17s from 15s and really appreciated the driving experience and handling improvements. Also think they look much better so long as not larger than an 18 in the back and 17 in front. I agree larger than that starts looking a little dorky & disproportionate. But ya'll who still thinks the 14s/15s are the way to go just needs put that myth to rest and step up to reality.
arocars Sep 9th, 09, 04:39 PM I don't care for them on any those cars. Although the cars are sweet, the wheels "look" aftermarket and lack pizzaz.
scblucam Sep 9th, 09, 05:59 PM The machined rim is not wide enough to look like the original trim rings. If it extended into the dish I think it would look better.
tones2SS Sep 12th, 09, 03:40 PM I think they look pretty good.
SRGN Sep 12th, 09, 05:38 PM Since nobody wants to answer where they are made, I guess it's safe to assume they are made of chinesium:mad:
68zz502fi Sep 12th, 09, 06:12 PM they look kinda cheap, dont like them at all. and their way too expensive, over pricing seems typical for year one.
b4wscrambler Sep 14th, 09, 02:21 PM I like them on the second gen. Price seems fair.
