: Barn find (not Camaro) OMG!
johnnymac Sep 2nd, 09, 07:36 AM I was at the DMV yesterday to get my plates renewed when I spotted this car in the parking lot. I spoke with the owner who said it was a barn find in Arkansas. It is a daily driver and is a survivor car. He was letting his 16 year old son use it for his driver's license exam. Even if you are not a Mustang fan, you have to love this! There were only ever 1000 of these ever produced so it is extremely rare.

mbrekke Sep 2nd, 09, 08:46 AM Nice ride. Especially for a 16 year old to take the driving test in. My oldest daughter took her test in an old Mustang also. A '66 6 cyl. automatic. Not quite the same... :D

I was waiting for the screwed up parking comment, lol.
RSSSfanatic Sep 2nd, 09, 10:25 AM Wow, it take a set of cajones to let a 16 year old drive a car like that! All it takes is one little screw up, and the original paint could have an ugly new blemish. I know it is a controlled environment, but combine driver inexperience with the nervousness of taking the test and a big, powerful motor, and in my opinion it is a recipe for heartburn! I hope he passed the test!
novaderrik Sep 2nd, 09, 12:42 PM if the kid has a dad that will let him drive a car like that for his driver's test, then i'm sure the kid has already got a few hours of drive time under his belt and knows what he's doing.
i know i drove as much as possible after i got my permit- and for about 10 years before that if you count the lap time with my dad an grandpa driving all over the countryside- and the test was just another drive around the block with a stranger in the passenger seat. i aced everything, and the parallel parking was the last thing to do. the test guy said that even if i totally screwed it up, i'd still easily pass.. so i just rammed the car into the spot- hitting every cone in in the process and winding up about 3 feet from the curb- and got my license. but sadly, i took the test in a friend's '85 Citation, which isn't quite as cool as a KR Mustang.
67RSSS Sep 2nd, 09, 12:49 PM Actually the kid parked correct for that car! Take up two parking spots he knows! It might however been the two points that pushed him over!
TJS69 Sep 2nd, 09, 01:37 PM The guy that found that car, must have been an idiot. Who lets a 16 year old drive a $50,000 car ?
rojo Sep 2nd, 09, 01:44 PM A rich one.
RSSSfanatic Sep 2nd, 09, 01:49 PM The guy that found that car, must have been an idiot. Who lets a 16 year old drive a $50,000 car ? I don't know Mustang values, but I would venture a guess that this particular car is worth WAY more than $50K, even in today's market.
TJS69 Sep 2nd, 09, 06:35 PM I'm sure it is... I just know it is worth enough to Not let a 16 yr old touch it.
