Does anybody have a stroked 502? If so, what kind of HP #'s you are getting out of your motors?
An early thank you for your help on this.

I have the Gen VI ZZ-502 motor that I bought 2 years ago and the # 6 connecting rod decided it had enough.
The Crank has joined the conecting rod in the scrap pile.
Both the block and heads are ok.
The engine builder..Don Scinto from Stratford Conn.(Don Scinto Racing engines) gave me some numbers he gets out of a stroked 502 motor in his dragster.

Curious what other 502 stroked motors are getting for tourque and hp #'s.

Thanks, Bob

Go to this site and read everything you can under the tech section. It is an eye opener. If your gonna build a BBC might as well take advise from the best in the bussiness. You can get an idea of hp/torque numbers by looking at the comnplete engine packages. I kept my 502 at a 4.00 stroke. Increased comp ratio and added a solid roller cam. I am not disapointed.

Look at the Super Series Owners Specs,
509 805hp/675lbs. TQ
Super Series Estimated ET/MPH
3500lb. car 9.55@136mph.
If your gonna do it do it right.

Hi Bob,

What happened? Rod bolts let go? Spun bearing? How many miles on the 502?

Sorry about the luck.

Hello Keith.

It's not bad luck.....It was a blast doing it.
I drove the motor hard as hell for the past two years. Honestly I'm surprised it lasted the 2 years.

It was a bit low on oil when were racing this past fall and it seemes the wrist pin froze and the rod cracked and damaged the bottom of the cylinder wall. Only 1/2" was hurt on the block.
Scinto is going to use only the block and heads and build a new motor.
He has a dragster that he races and he mentioned 700-735 hp. and rpm's in the 7200 range. He's going to build this motor the same way.
I just bought a 67 to drop it in.
The 67 has a 402 that's built..I'll put that in the 69 for a while.
