Looking at my new repro 621 bell housing sitting on the floor and wondering if I should clear coat it to keep it looking nice. Thinking the casting might be too rough so has anyone else done this ?
Yes, it's come to searching for things like this to do before my wife realizes I'm at a standstill waiting for the motor and re-assigns me to her hunny-do list.

I clear coated mine over a year ago and it still looks great.

I used plasti-kote 500 deg. clear. I just happened to have it around the shop.

I used Dupli Color clear enamal. It worked fine 10 years ago on my original 621 and the new one 621 I installed last year with the TKO 500. When I took the original out, I sprayed it with Super Clean, rinsed it off and hung it up in the garage. It looks as good as it did when I cleaned and painted it in 1999.

Thanks, appreciate the info. I have Dupli Color clear in my paint cabinet so I'll use that after I scrub and air dry the bell housing.
