View Full Version : What happened to Notepad in usercp ?
TraxUnderground Sep 3rd, 09, 06:05 AM Anyone know where I can find the notepad in the usercp? I had it for years and copied all my important threads to it but now it’s gone and I can’t find my info. Its coincidence that I just renewed and upgraded my membership and can’t find it any more. If I have to I’ll start from scratch but I cant find the notepad to paste my favorite threads to. Any thoughts???? Thanks
clwilcox33 Sep 3rd, 09, 08:24 AM I don't know what you mean with your notepad, but you'd really be better off "subscribing" to your favorite threads or putting a link to them in your browser's Favorites/Bookmarks.
If you click the drop down menu for Thread Tools, you'll see Subscribe to this Thread. Then when you click your UserCP, you'll see all your favorite threads listed there.
HwyStarJoe Sep 3rd, 09, 09:18 AM The Personal Notepad is still there, so I imagine it has something to do with the fact that you upgraded you membership. Might be a bug that the administration can fix.
My understanding is everyone has an editor or message box in their UserCP (it's been there just over a year) called "Personal Notepad" You can type up notes and paste bits of text into it and hit save. I use mine a lot for reminders etc...
Gary is the content just gone or is the feature missing completely? I don't see a way to individually turn it on or off so I suspect it's just the content missing at which point I'd say it's gone for good...
SHIFTY4 Sep 3rd, 09, 09:31 AM there is an arrow in the upper right corner to collapse the window. maybe that's what the issue is...

Dennis..the content is gone. I used to open my CP and notepad was right there in front of me. I had cut and pasted about 20 or so important threads and had it there for years adding them as I searched. Now I cant even find notepad anywhere. Don (from Canada)tried to help me, but we couldnt figure it out. I just noticed it was gone after I upgraded to lifetime membership. Dont knoiw if that had anything to do with it or not. Don set me back to yearly to see if it came back but I still cant find it.
Its like the notification star that userd to blink in my face reminding me I had a PM now its been gone for a while too. I guess its just the site changes. I wish I had those threads back though. I did try to expand the box in the upeer corner already . It said I was subscribed to a thread I just replied to but thats about it. If you find anyhtin please let me know
Thanks
Gary
TraxUnderground Sep 3rd, 09, 10:16 AM This is what I see when I open my cp. I cant find the personal notepad like on your screenshots. Is it hidden somewhere? Maybe I am an idiot? :)
Hi Gary. It seems these new usergroups have not been added to the "allow" file for the notepad. Don will have to enter them - if they are keeping this feature.

I was going to save them as favorites on my browser but I figured your servers are more safe and dependable than my pc at home......
