I have a 67 with a ten bolt....I've previously tried to remove the axles to install new disc brake set up and found that after removing the bolt that locks the center pin I still can't get the pin out so I can remove the axles.
Is there a technique or a press I can use to press this pin out. I tried a BFH and pin to drive it out but no luck.
I need to replace the axle bearings and seals now so there is no way around having to remove the axles.

Did the lock bolt have a long tail to it?
If not, then you may have to use the Dremel tool and grind away the end of the differential pinion shaft to clear the lockbolt tail and remove the shaft from the other side.
After removal, you will have to get a new shaft and lock bolt.

This is a very comon problem and it has been covered many times on this sight. If you do a search you will find a lot of information on removing the broken retainer bolt.

From another post::
This broken bolt is so common. I've had three of them in the last 6mths at our shop. We use a specialty tool that gets this done in about 10 min. Got ours from either a Snap-on truck or Matco, can't remember, but did a search on google and found them online at www.fabbriassociates.com, www.etoolcart.com, www.skywaytools.com and even ebay. If time is money this kit is worth a months pay because we don't worry about damaging the carriers anymore!
Hope this helps someone,
Jon
