When I'm ready to shoot the body with the 2k urethane primer, can I shoot the dash as well?
I've got the dash sanded down to the red factory primer, ready for primer\paint. Can I shoot it with the same primer I'm hitting the body with, or something else? I'll be using the Rustoleum 777 on the dash (I think that's the number).
Thanks!

Yes you can paint the dash with it.

Yup -
I like to shoot the whole shell if possible - kinda 'seals' the whole thing up for good
You didn't say what color primer you're shooting ...
Since you're going to paint the interior a darker color you could use a darker shade of 2K for the interior areas - but, it really won't effect the color much for darks, at least as it does when trying to shoot light colors over darker 2K primers.

Well, as luck would have it, the shop only had the primer I wanted in grey. They were out of black. :(
Ok then.... spray away!
Thanks

I know Rustoleum 7777 comes up often but you really would prefer spraying
SEM #39143, which is a professional product. It's also available in quarts, #39144. You most likely will be spraying more black so why not just keep gun spraying products? Better finish. You can even get PPG 9266 which is the interior black paint code anyway; also comparable to SEM.

I suppose I could, but that seems like an awful lot of paint (and money) to just shoot the dash and package tray area.

It's available in aerosol as well as quarts Joe. And also the same sheen required for underhood components. I'm aware 7777 is cheaper, I just prefer SEM.

I'll look into it at the body shop then Scott.
Thanks!
