How do you get to the rear screws of this oil pan? Looks like the frame is completely covering them.

It's possible to get the bolts out with a 1/4 swivel socket but I think you have to raise the trans to get the pan out. Loosen the mount and jack the tailshaft.

Yes, I think. You can clearly see it in the Flicker photos attached.

I'd def try the trick with the swivel before taking out the cross member as Jeff suggests. If you decide that you cannot access and have to remove the cross member you can do the following: Get a jack/wood block under the pan to support the transmission, then remove the two bolts that mount the tail shaft to that cross member. Then you have two frame bolts each side to remove the cross member. Remove these, but you will see that the cross member won't just come out but will sort of float around between the rails. This should get you the rest of the way in accessing those pan bolts. If not, then you have to take out the cross member entirely. From the picture, you might need to unbolt your collectors so you can move your pipes if they are tight. And keep in mind that the cross member is sort of "keyed" to fit the molded sheet metal of the floor. In other words, you might need to push up on the floor from under the car to free it.

Just remove the 4 bolts from the crossmember, then support rear of tranny with a jack etc.. then remove the 2 bolts from the tranny mount and slide the crossmember back a few inches to gain access to the bolts
