I guess I should be able to test my non-working windshield washer pump while in the car.

It has juice at the yellow wire going in. So that means the blue wire would be ground. I simply put a grounding wire onto the blue wire little open exposed gap and that should make the pump work. But, it does not, meaning the pump is no good??

Take the cover off and look at it to see if the pump is operating. If it's moving but not pumping fluid Trico makes a repair kit for the pump. The relay in there should energize when the ground is made and then the pump should pump until the gear makes a full turn.

Note also that the wipers always run while the pump is on. The motor controls both functions. Not like cars of today.
