i have a 88 camaro with a 5.7 350 crate engine w/vortec heads, and i blew the timing chain right threw the timing cover. so i guess this is the time to put a better cam in it. what is a good cam kit and what timing gears should i put in as well. thanx http://camaroforums.com/forum/clear.gif

call summitt and jegs there are several packages depending on if you like mild and rough for instance, the stall etc, "Trick flow" and comp cams make good products. I agree right now is the time to do it as your there already anyways fixing 1 problem, anyways if you are looking to do the cam you should also be looking at lifters and rocker arms as well with push rods anyways they all go together if you know what i mean and they normally have good kits which will save you money at the shop and time running back and forth than you can call around and get quotes for the entire job..
