Has anybody heard a car with this setup? I was just wandering how loud it sounds. I have heard a spintech muffler before but it was ran all the way to the rear of the car. Thanks

side exhaust is illegal in my state if it exits before the rear wheels

And in the St. Louis Non-attainment Area, if you have a P/U with turn-downs before the axle, they DON'T have to pass you b/c the Smog Technicians are not required to crawl under your vehicle to insert the exhaust gas probe!!

They have to be able to insert the probe from the side of the vehicle!!!

Please bear stuff like this in mind...

Here in Austin TX we don't have a smog test yet. The car will be registered as a antique vehicle and will not have to pass inspection.

I was just wandering how this tow truck motor would sound with this style exhaust. I was thinking of going with flowmaster 50 series out the back but I really like the side exhaust. Thanks

Flowmasters on a 496 aint gonna be quiet...

I've done some experimenting with a 3 1/2" system I built for a freinds Luv truck, it exits in front of the rear tire (kinda like side exhaust), and if you let it point straight out the side it is louder then pointing it down some.
